Graduates of BS Agriculture (Hons), BS Environmental Science, Food Science and Technology and Forestry in Pakistan usually go into provincial agriculture, forest and environment departments, Environmental Protection Agencies, research institutes, seed, fertiliser, food and agribusiness companies, environmental consulting, and development projects on water, climate and livelihoods. Many continue to an MSc (Hons) or MPhil and then a PhD, often in agronomy, plant protection, soil science, food technology, water management or climate. Scholarships for agriculture students and environmental science graduates are some of the easiest to match, because several fully funded master's programmes in Europe are built for exactly these degrees.
Below are the programmes that fit, what they pay and the next deadline, checked on the official pages on 19 October 2026.

Erasmus Mundus: the best fit for most of these degrees
Erasmus Mundus joint master's programmes are two-year degrees taught in English across two or more European countries. Scholarship holders have tuition covered and receive a monthly allowance, usually €1,400. You can only receive one Erasmus Mundus scholarship in your life, so choose carefully. Our Erasmus Mundus guide explains the process.
For BS Agriculture (agronomy, plant pathology, entomology, soil science):
- PlantHealth asks for a 180 ECTS bachelor's in agronomy or agricultural sciences with some plant health or crop protection content. The first call for the 2027-29 intake, including scholarships, is open from 1 October to 31 December 2026.
- IMSOGLO wants at least 40 ECTS of natural sciences across four disciplines (agricultural sciences counts as one). The scholarship deadline for the 2027 intake is 28 February 2027, and IELTS needs 6.5 with 6 in each part. The programme says scholarship winners usually have first-class grades or are in the top 30% of their class.
- IMRD prefers agricultural sciences and also takes degrees with maths or statistics, life sciences and economics content. It does not accept a lower-second result. The official site had no 2027 dates yet, so check it directly.
- SUSTAGRI covers precision agriculture, sensors and remote sensing, and suits agricultural engineering graduates. Its 2027 calendar was not published when we checked.
For BS Environmental Science:
- GLOBE names biology, agriculture, environmental sciences, forestry and natural resources as qualifying degrees. Stage 1 is a short online form open until 4 January 2027, and the English requirement is B2 (for example IELTS 5.5).
- GroundwatCh suits environmental science graduates with good maths. The scholarship deadline for applicants from Partner Countries, including Pakistan, is 3 January 2027.
- MESPOM combines environmental science with policy and management. Financial aid applicants must apply by 7 January 2027. Check the eligibility page for the minimum grade before you apply.
- M3EP (environmental economics and policy) is an option if your degree included economics; see our guide for business and economics graduates.
For Forestry:
- European Forestry (MSc EF) starts at the University of Eastern Finland. The application window for August 2027 is 2 December 2026 to 13 January 2027.
- SUFONAMA and GLOFOR (Global Forestry) are also open to forestry graduates. SUFONAMA's portal runs from 15 November to 15 January, but the page does not state the year, and GLOFOR's admission pages could not be read, so confirm both on the official sites.
For Food Science and Technology:
- FIPDes (Food Innovation and Product Design) is built for food science, biotechnology, nutrition and process engineering graduates. We could not confirm its 2027 dates on the official site, so check it early.
Germany: DAAD EPOS
DAAD's Development-Related Postgraduate Courses fund professionals from developing countries, including Pakistan. You need at least two years of relevant work after your bachelor's, results in the upper third of your class and a degree normally no more than six years old. Master's scholars receive €992 a month plus insurance and a travel allowance. Courses on the 2027-28 list that suit these degrees include Tropical Forestry and Hydro Science and Engineering at TU Dresden, Agricultural Economics at Hohenheim, Integrated Water Resources Management at TH Köln, Environmental Governance at Freiburg, Landscape Ecology and Nature Conservation at Greifswald, and Geography of Environmental Risks and Human Security at Bonn. You apply to the course, and each sets its own deadline.
UK, Australia, USA and Japan
Commonwealth Master's Scholarships (through HEC) are linked to six development themes, including "science and technology for development" and "strengthening resilience and response to crises", which fit climate, water and food security plans well. The CSC portal closes at 16:00 BST on 20 October 2026.
Australia Awards Pakistan lists climate change and agriculture and water security among its priority areas for the 2027 intake. You need five years of relevant work experience in Pakistan and must be 45 or under. The last round closed on 30 April 2026, and the official site says applications reopen in early 2027.
Fulbright through USEFP names natural resource management among its priority fields. A four-year BS meets the 16-year rule, and you need the GRE with at least 145 in each section. The next round has not been announced.
MEXT Research through the Embassy of Japan suits graduates who want research-based study in Japan. The 2027 round closed on 26 May 2026.
Other routes to look at: the Chinese Government Scholarship through HEC, and HEC's overseas scholarships for top-ranked universities, which run in batches with thematic areas. Check HEC's pages for the next call, as we could not open them today. Women studying a master's or MPhil in food security, agriculture or climate in Pakistan can also look at the Scotland Pakistan Scholarships; the 2026 deadline has passed.
What to prepare
- An HEC-attested degree and transcript. Convert your CGPA with our grade converter so you can check grade rules quickly.
- IELTS or TOEFL. Requirements vary from IELTS 5.5 (GLOBE) to 6.5 with no band below 6 (IMSOGLO).
- A motivation letter that links your field work, final-year project or internship to the programme. Lab, field and extension experience counts for a lot in these fields.
